What it is:
This herb is the ripe fruit of Amomum villosum Lour, or Amomum
longiligulare Wu (family Zingibera-ceae). The former is mainly produced
inYangchun and Xinyi counties in Guangdong Province, hence its name. The
latter is chiefly grown in Hainan and Zhanjiang Prefecture of Guang-dong
Provincea and hence the name Hainan Amomum. The drug is harvested in summer
or autumn, dried in sunlight, and used unprepared.
Property
Flavour and channel tropism: pungent in flavour, warm in property, acing
on the spleen and stomach channels.
