Agastache (Herba Agastachis)


 

What it is:
This herb is the above-ground part of Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. (family Labiatae) which is chiefly produced in Guangdong Provinces. It is harvested in summer and autumn, cut to pieces, dried in shade, and used unprepared or fresh.

Property:
Flavour and channel tropism: pungent in favour, slightly warm in acting on the spleen, stomach and lung channels.

Effects: removing dampness, relieving exterior syndrome and summer-heat, promoting appetite and stopping vomiting.
