Achyranthes And Cyathula root

What it is:
This herb is the root of two kinds of plants: Achyranthes Bidentata Blume and Cyathula Officinalis Kuan (family Amaranthaceae). The former is mainly produced in Henan Province (Achyranthesroot) and the latter is from Sichuan Province. It is cleaned after removal of the hairy rootlets, dried in sunlight, or treated with sulphur smoke. Sliced, it is used unprepared or stir-baked with wine.

Property:
The herb's flavour and channel tropism: bitter and sour in flavour, neutral in property, acting on the liver and kidney channels.

Effects:
Invigorating blood circulation and eliminating blood stasis, reinforcing the liver and kidney, strengthening the tendons and bones, curing stranguria byinducing diuresis, and guiding the blood to go downwords.
