1. Overview and Causes

Bronchiectasis means dilatation and deformation of the bronchi due to damage of the bronchus walls caused by inflammation of the bronchi and their peripheral tissues. Usually, it is followed by infection of the bronchi and lung, and common in children and youth.

Protracted cough, spitting out after getting up in the morning or going to bed at night profuse sputum which may be separated into three layers after standing still for several hours, white greasy tongue coating, and taut slippery pulse..

Syndrome (b)
Retention of Noxious-Heat and Phlegm


Profuse yellowish-green sputum sometimes with foul odour, high fever, oppressed sensation in the chest, rapid breathing, reddened tongue with yellow greasy coating, and slippery rapid forceful pulse.

Therapeutic principle: Clearing away Heat in the Lung detoxicating and removing retained phlegm.

Generally speaking, Qigong is good for healing effect of this specific ailment, however individual results may vary. It improves the flow of the qi and the circulation of the blood, so you'll experience more energy, but, you won't see/ feel any immediate effects, as with many exercises and therapies, it takes a few weeks or even months of practice before you'll see any significant improvements.

Coix seed(Yiyiren)30g, Tangerine peel(Chenpi) 10g, Bitter Apricot Kernel (Xingren)10g, Ophiopogon (Maidong)12g, rice 60g, put 3 cups water then soak 20m., after boiling 30m.to make rice gruel, eat once a day for 4 weeks.


(c) Life style
1) Stop smoking.
2)
Don't eat raw, cold, spicy food and deep-fried food.
3)
Keep doing exercises.
